Heartland Cochrane Homes for Sale: A 4 Bedroom Tour

If you're searching Heartland Cochrane homes for sale, chances are you need space. Room for the kids, a spot to work from home, maybe a guest room for the grandparents. And here's the thing, a lot of newer homes look great but feel narrow once your family moves in. In the video below, I tour a fully finished four bedroom home in Heartland with just over 2,100 square feet above grade, a main floor office, a bonus room overlooking the park, and a basement with a wet bar. Here's what's inside and what to know about buying a home in Heartland.

Key takeaways

  • This Heartland home has four bedrooms and is fully finished, with just over 2,100 square feet above grade plus a developed basement.

  • A main floor office with French doors works as a homework space, homeschool room, or playroom.

  • The bonus room overlooks a park and green space across the street.

  • The basement has a fourth bedroom, a full bathroom, and a wet bar with wine storage.

  • Resale homes in Heartland often feel wider than some newer, narrower builds, and come with the extras already done.

Why look at resale homes in Heartland?

Heartland has a mix of brand new builds and homes that are a few years old. A resale home often gives you more finished space for the money, with the basement, landscaping, fence, and deck already done. Many slightly older plans are also wider than today's narrower lots, and you really notice that extra space in the kitchen and living room. You can move in on your timeline instead of waiting for a build.

Inside this fully finished Heartland home

Main floor office and entry

On the left as you walk in is a bright home office with a big window off the front porch and frosted French doors that tuck neatly to the side. It's a great homework space, homeschool room, or playroom you can keep an eye on. The open railing has a stain that's held up beautifully, and the creamy white walls make the whole home feel warm.

Kitchen and living room

The kitchen has dark wood cabinets against light walls, creamy tile, stainless steel appliances, lots of drawers, and plenty of cabinet space. The living room is nicely tucked away from the kitchen, with a gas fireplace, a mantle, a tile feature wall, and updated flooring. There's room to spread out your furniture without it feeling crowded.

Pantry, mudroom, and garage

A walk-through pantry with automatic lighting and lots of shelving leads to the mudroom, which has a command centre wall for papers and calendars, a closet, a bench, and a sink. That sink is perfect for washing up the kids after the park across the street. The double attached garage steps down to extra parking room and a storage loft for all the things you don't know where to put.

Upstairs: primary suite, laundry, and bonus room

Upstairs has brand new carpet. The primary bedroom sits at the back with an art niche, a walk-in closet, and an ensuite with a big vanity, a tub, a shower, a water closet, and a second sink. The laundry room has cabinets, shelving, and hanging space for air drying, and there's a full linen closet in the hall.

Two good sized spare bedrooms share a full bathroom with a tub and shower and a large vanity. My favourite room might be the bonus room at the front, set up as a playroom, with windows overlooking the park and green space.

Fully finished basement

Downstairs you'll find a fourth bedroom with a walk-in closet, a full bathroom with a tile floor, two storage closets, and a big rec room with a wet bar and built-in wine storage. It's ideal for movie nights, a home gym, or visiting grandparents.

About Heartland, Cochrane

Heartland is one of Cochrane's newer communities and a favourite with young families. This home sits right across from a park and green space, and there are lots of parks and pathways throughout the community. Heartland also has plans for a future school. Some homes sit closer to the train tracks and Highway 1A, so location within the community matters, and I always walk my buyers through the pros and cons of each pocket.
